Accountability

One contract, start to finish. We design it, we install it, we certify it, and we answer for it.

Sign-off

Electrical Certificate of Compliance issued in your name by our certified personnel, in-house.

Standard

Every system wired to SANS 10142-1, with AC and DC surge protection in a compliant DB.

Your deposit

Can be routed through TradeSafe escrow, so funds only release as each milestone is met.

The arithmetic

Doing nothing is not the free option.

Electricity across South Africa is billed on a rising tariff against a supply you don't control. Every year you delay, the same appliances cost more to run and the payback period on a system you eventually buy anyway gets pushed further out.

We don't sell on fear of load-shedding. We size a system against your actual consumption and show you what it does to your monthly bill. If the numbers don't work for your property, we'll tell you that.

+9.01% Approved municipal electricity tariff increase for the 2026/27 financial year, effective 1 July 2026 — varies by municipality, from 7.5% in Cape Town to 14% in Buffalo City. Source: NERSA determination
~67% One Johannesburg installation's actual bill reduction — summer electricity spend fell from R1,800 to R600 monthly on City Power; winter from R2,500 to R800. Real client result — not a typical or average outcome

Pre-engineered systems

Three configurations that cover most South African properties.

Each one is built around hardware our distributors keep in stock, so your project doesn't stall waiting on a back-order. Your final design is sized to your bill — these are the starting points, not a menu.

Pricing for these three systems is quoted on request. Sunsynk, Deye and Hubble hardware is imported and priced against the ZAR/USD rate, so rather than publish a figure that goes stale we check current distributor pricing when you ask. Value-range pricing is published below.

Huawei LUNA2000 high-voltage architecture is available on the Executive Estate system by request. All warranties quoted are the manufacturer's, honoured through their South African support channels — we register your equipment in your name at commissioning.

A lower starting price

Value-tier systems, from R41,000.

The three packages above use Sunsynk, Deye and Hubble — brands with a decade of South African installation history behind them. If budget is the deciding factor, we also install complete systems, panels and battery included, on value-range hardware.

The trade-off is straightforward: the same core function, at a meaningfully lower price, from manufacturers without Sunsynk or Deye's local track record yet. We've installed these systems for a number of clients and stand behind them the same way — same installation standard, same SANS 10142-1 compliance, same Certificate of Compliance at the end.

How a project runs

Four stages. You pay at the end of each one.

The sequence matters here — each payment is released against something that has actually happened, not against a date on a calendar.

STAGE 1

Assessment & design

We read your last three months of billing, check your roof orientation, connection type and available DB space, and size the system to your real consumption — not to the biggest thing we could sell you.

No cost
STAGE 2

Procurement

On acceptance, we place your hardware order with our distributor and send you the order confirmation. Your components are allocated to your project and priced at that day's rate.

90% on acceptance
STAGE 3

Delivery & installation

Hardware is delivered to your address and the certified installation team mounts, wires and integrates the system to SANS 10142-1. Typically one to two consecutive days.

Covered already
STAGE 4

Commissioning & COC

We test under load, configure your monitoring app, and the Installation Electrician issues your Certificate of Compliance. Only then does the final payment fall due.

10% on COC

The deposit, explained

Every rand you pay us, and what it buys.

A 90% deposit is a lot to ask of a company you've just met. So rather than justify it in paragraphs, here is the whole ledger. Pick a system to see the split.

90%

Hardware and installation, in one payment

Covers your inverter, batteries, panels and protection gear — bought from our wholesale distributor, with the order confirmation sent to you the same day it clears — plus the certified installation team, delivery of roughly 400 kg of equipment to your property, and the electrical testing a COC requires. One payment, no second collection mid-project.

Our fee — and deliberately the last money to move. If the system doesn't commission, or it doesn't pass the electrical testing needed for a COC, we don't get paid. That is the point of putting it last.

Figures are indicative and shown against our value-range system prices. Premium systems follow the same two milestones at the pricing we quote you. Your quote is line-itemised against your actual design. Hardware pricing tracks the ZAR/USD rate, so a quote holds for 48 hours before we re-check it against the distributor. If a 90% transfer to a young company is more than you're comfortable with, ask us to route it through TradeSafe escrow instead — the funds sit with an independent third party and release as each milestone above is met.

One thing to expect on the invoice. Champions Green Energy is the trading name of JFB Technology Group (Pty) Ltd (Reg. 2026/216763/07), and that is the name on our banking details and on every contract. If a beneficiary name you weren't expecting would give you pause at the payment stage, this is why — and you're welcome to verify the registration on the CIPC database before you transfer anything.

Straight answer

Everything on one quote, from one company.

We design your system, buy the hardware, install it and certify it. That's one contract, one line-itemised quote, and one number to call if something isn't right — not a supplier, an electrician and a distributor each explaining that it's the other one's problem.

Our systems are installed by our own certified personnel and signed off in-house, so the Certificate of Compliance comes from the team that did the work rather than from a third party you have to chase. We buy through importers and wholesale distributors rather than at retail, and we show you the invoice — the hardware markup you'd normally pay simply isn't in our quote.

We're a young company, and we'd rather show you paperwork than adjectives. You get the distributor's order confirmation for your hardware, a design you can take to anyone for a second opinion, and a COC in your name at the end. That's what you can actually check — and it's what we'd want to see if we were the ones paying.

Champions Green Energy is a trading name of JFB Technology Group (Pty) Ltd — the entity you contract with, and the name on our banking details.

Hardware we specify

  • Sunsynk
  • Deye
  • Freedom Won
  • Hubble Lithium
  • JA Solar
  • Canadian Solar
  • Jinko Solar
  • Huawei

We select this hardware ourselves and buy it through established South African distributors — we're not tied to any single manufacturer, so we recommend what suits your property, not what a brand deal requires us to sell. Trademarks and brand names belong to their respective manufacturers.

Questions people actually ask

Before you send anyone money.

Because that single payment covers both your hardware and your installation team, and our distributors don't extend credit to young companies — we buy the equipment outright before it ever reaches your roof. It isn't profit sitting in our account; it's the actual cost of the project, paid once rather than chased twice.

Two things should make that easier to accept. First, you get the distributor's order confirmation showing what was bought for your project. Second, if you'd rather not transfer directly, we'll route the payment through TradeSafe escrow, a registered South African escrow service. Your money is held by them and released to us only as each milestone is met.

Our own installation team. Our certified personnel hold the registrations South African law requires to install and certify a solar system, and the relevant registration number appears on your quote and on the Certificate of Compliance at the end. You're welcome to verify it, and we'll send our public liability policy schedule on request.

Only a DoEL-registered Installation Electrician or Master Installation Electrician can legally issue a Certificate of Compliance in South Africa. If a quote you've received doesn't include a COC, ask why.

We specify lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO₄) batteries only. The units we use carry a manufacturer's warranty of ten years and are rated by the manufacturer for 6 000+ cycles at 80% depth of discharge.

On a normal residential cycling pattern that translates to well over a decade of service before capacity drops meaningfully. These warranties are the manufacturer's, not ours — we register the equipment in your name so you can claim directly.

Tier-1 panels use tempered anti-shatter glass tested to standard impact ratings, which covers ordinary Highveld hail. Severe hail is a risk on any roof-mounted equipment, which is why the next part matters more.

Once your COC is issued, add the system to your building insurance and send your insurer a copy of the certificate. Most South African insurers require a valid COC for a solar installation to be covered — an uncertified install can put your existing cover at risk, not just the panels.

Inverters, batteries and panels are imported and priced in dollars. When the rand moves, distributor pricing moves with it, sometimes within the same week.

If your quote lapses, nothing is lost — we simply re-check the distributor's current pricing and reissue. Sometimes it comes back lower. We won't accept a deposit against a stale price and then ask you for more later.

Yes, and it's often the sensible route. The Essential Backup system is a hybrid inverter with storage and no panels — it solves outages immediately, and panels can be added to the same inverter later without replacing anything.

Sunsynk and Deye architectures also allow additional batteries or extra PV strings as your needs grow, so the core of the system isn't a dead end.

If your system can export to the grid, most municipalities across South Africa require the installation to be registered with them, and each has its own application and metering requirements.

We'll tell you during the assessment which rules apply to your municipality and prepare the documentation — your COC and system schematic — that the application needs. Municipal fees and any meter change are billed by the municipality directly, not by us.

Send us your electricity bill. We'll send back real numbers.

The assessment costs nothing and puts you under no obligation. If solar doesn't pay for itself on your property, we'd rather tell you that than sell you a system.
